Having just played yesterday, the Shields Panthers will jump right back in to play the Highland Home Flying Squadron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Shields beat Southside 54-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Shields.
Jalance Kimbrough and Dante Leffall were among the main playmakers for Shields as the former scored 15 points along with five assists and the latter scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kimbrough has scored at least 25% of Shields' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Watts, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Highland Home waltzed into their contest Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Elba 59-20 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Highland Home has managed all season.
Shields is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Highland Home, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
