The Desert Vista Thunder pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-55 to Sierra Canyon. While losing is never fun, Desert Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 45th in Arizona, while Sierra Canyon is ranked first in California).
Several Thunder players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Swindle, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eanae Dagons, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Desert Vista and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Sierra Canyon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Desert Vista will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Mountain Pointe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. Sierra Canyon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paul VI at 9:00 p.m. on December 16th.
