Philadelphia managed to keep up with Union until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Philadelphia's rough 41-18 loss to Union might stick with them for a while. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Water Valley made easy work of Bruce on Thursday and carried off a 55-29 victory. The victory was just what Water Valley needed coming off of a 40-14 loss in their prior match.
It was another big night for Jaden Morgan, who rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Morgan was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Zae Bradford was another key contributor, rushing for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Philadelphia has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Water Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
