The Valley Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Bonanza at home to the tune of 57-14. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Valley as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Valley found their leader in underclassman Anaya Williams, who scored 24 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sharoni Black, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals.
Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Bonanza, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will take on Somerset Academy Losee at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Somerset Academy Losee is ranked 30th, while Valley is ranked 46th). Bonanza won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th.
