The West Jefferson Roughriders were the 53-50 winner over the Triad Cardinals when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. West Jefferson ended up on the wrong side of a tough 46-22 walloping at the hands of Triad on Friday. West Jefferson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.
West Jefferson's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braxton Stone, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Fitzpatrick, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
West Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Triad, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Jefferson will take on Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triad, they will be playing at home against West Liberty-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
