It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Clinton Dragons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past McMinn County 34-10. The win was nothing new for Clinton as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshuah Keith, who threw for 316 yards and a touchdown while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. Bryson Maddox did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 97 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why McMinn County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Sharp. Despite the final result, he rushed for 80 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.
Clinton's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for McMinn County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Clinton will head out on the road to face off against Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Ridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. McMinn County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
