The Haworth Lions were the 69-52 winner over the Wright City Lumberjax when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Haworth took a hard 60-43 fall against Wright City on Monday. While losing is never fun, Haworth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Wright City is ranked 79th).
Wright City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rayner Beene, who scored 22 points. Kase Lindly was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven assists.
Haworth has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Wright City, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haworth has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Eagletown at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Wright City will take on Caddo at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
