Tri-State Christian has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. The Tri-State Christian Crusaders and the Avon Grove Charter Wolves will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Tri-State Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Avon Grove Charter likes a good challenge.
On Saturday, Tri-State Christian strolled past The Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. Given Tri-State Christian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 63rd in Maryland, while The Christian Academy is ranked 420th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tri-State Christian relied on the efforts of Jeremiah Falko, who scored 16 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds, and Sam Falko, who scored 24 points. Falko hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brandon Swort, who scored eight points.
Avon Grove Charter played against Freire Charter and won via forfeit.
Avon Grove Charter had a senior duo take command as Ayub Massaquoi scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals and Xavier London scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Tri-State Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Avon Grove Charter, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Tri-State Christian have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 7.7 threes per game. It's a different story for Avon Grove Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 threes per game. Given Tri-State Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Avon Grove Charter will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Tri-State Christian against Avon Grove Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 81-31 win. With Tri-State Christian ahead 39-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
