The Phillips Wildcats had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They skirted past Hyde Park 55-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Phillips also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Phillips' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claude Mpouma led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Mpouma is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Amari Edwards, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Phillips pushed their record up to 17-8 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points per game. As for Hyde Park, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Phillips does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hyde Park also has no future games currently scheduled.
