Musselman is a perfect 6-0 against Pendleton County since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Applemen will head out to square off against the Wildcat at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Musselman turned things around against Moorefield on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 7-2.
Cam Bragg looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Wyatt Zimmerman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Musselman is 6-1 when Zimmerman posts two or more runs, but 5-19 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdyn Woolum, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Pendleton County hadn't beaten Tygarts Valley on the road since April 4, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Wildcat walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Bulldogs.
Chase Owens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Travis Owens, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Jaxon Simon was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Pendleton County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Musselman's record now sits at 11-20. As for Pendleton County, their record is now 11-14.
Musselman was able to grind out a solid win over Pendleton County in their previous matchup back in April, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Applemen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
