Basketball Recap: Plainfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

If Whiteland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Plainfield, they should've done a better job of containing Noah Smith. The Quakers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 64-52 on Friday with plenty of help from Smith, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Harper Baker-Lands, who went 5-for-11 en route to 16 points. He has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played.

Whiteland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dane Kunz, who shot 62% from the field on his way to 19 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Edwards, who posted eight points.

The win was the third in a row for Plainfield, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 67.7 points this season. As for Whiteland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Plainfield has already played their next contest, a 75-65 win against New Albany on the 6th. As for Whiteland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-62 victory against East Central on the 6th.
