The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs will challenge the Circleville Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Bloom-Carroll's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Circleville has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Bloom-Carroll gave up the first runs last Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Hamilton Township. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly ten runs.
Emma Brandt made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Bloom-Carroll got a big performance out of Madelyn Gates, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Gates has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Bloom-Carroll hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Circleville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Hamilton Township. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Kayla Fleck spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Claire Davis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Circleville's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Bloom-Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Circleville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bloom-Carroll hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .458. It's a different story for Circleville, though, as they've only averaged .192. Will they be able to contain Bloom-Carroll's hitters?
Everything went Bloom-Carroll's way against Circleville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Bloom-Carroll made off with a 9-1 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
