The Webber Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Dieterich on the road and fell 53-25. Webber was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.
Webber lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Laney Hails, who scored four points along with five steals. Hails has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shayla Brumley, who scored 11 points.
Webber struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dieterich pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
Miley Britton was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Dieterich. Britton hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Addison Miller was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Webber's defeat dropped their record down to 4-25. As for Dieterich, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.
Webber will be playing at home against Galatia/Thompsonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (Webber is ranked 627th, while Galatia/Thompsonville is ranked 646th). Dieterich does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
