Green and Clay are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Green Bobcats will be playing at home against the Clay Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Green will be strutting in after a win while Clay will be coming in after a loss.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Green beat Northwest 39-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Green.
Green found their leader in underclassman Abbie Knapp, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Knapp has scored at least a third of Green's points. Matti Hayslip was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Clay was beaten by Notre Dame 56-17 on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clay has scored all season.
Green has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Clay, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Green strolled past Clay in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 45-26. Does Green have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clay turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
