It was a good run, but the Sterling Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a hard 72-56 fall against Madison. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Sterling's loss came despite strong showings from Christian Rogers and Irving Beteta. Rogers scored 12 points along with two steals, while Beteta scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Rogers hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Henry Beteta, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Anthony Avalos, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Madison. Avalos hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquez Hubbard-chenault, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists.
Sterling's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 23-7 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Sterling does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Madison also has no future games currently scheduled.
