The Bellbrook Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Ross Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bellbrook was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Waynesville on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 10-0 shutout. The Golden Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 15-0).

Lauren Nicholson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Walts (Defiance College) was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Mary Saunders, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Bellbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Ross came out on top against Edgewood on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Cougars. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on three straight.
Like Bellbrook, Ross also got a great game from a two-way player: Paige Baker. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Baker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josi Alvis, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kam Commins was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Bellbrook's record is now 8-10. As for Ross, their record now sits at 9-6.
Bellbrook couldn't quite finish off Ross when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
