Bristol is a perfect 10-0 against Dock Mennonite since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will take on the Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bristol's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against The Christian Academy as they made off with a 20-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with The Christian Academy: they've now won eight in a row.
Luciana Snyder was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton McClain, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Bristol lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dock Mennonite). They put the hurt on Collegium Charter with a sharp 16-0 win two weeks ago. The victory was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Aubrey Gahman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Dock Mennonite got a massive performance out of Addison Landis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Dana Delamater was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bristol's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season. As for Dock Mennonite, their record now sits at 3-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bristol has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .627. However, it's not like Dock Mennonite struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bristol took their win against Dock Mennonite when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
