Basketball Recap: Jaden Douglas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Baptist Hill over Airport

Baptist Hill saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 64-50 bruising from the Airport Eagles. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden Douglas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Douglas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Martrell Wright, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Airport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan McCray led the charge by shooting 4-for-5 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave McCray a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Jeffries, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Baptist Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Airport, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Baptist Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-52 loss against Hanahan on the 28th. As for Airport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-24 defeat against Philip Simmons on the 28th.
