Somerset Academy Losee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 36 points or more this season.
Key Thrower was her usual excellent self, going 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 2 assists. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Akaylah Thrower, who scored 15 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Cheyenne's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ananda Jackson, who scored nine points.
Somerset Academy Losee pushed their record up to 16-6 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Cheyenne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy Losee will face off against the Archers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amplus Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Cheyenne, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bengals at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Bonanza is ranked 91st, while the Desert Shields are ranked 74th).
