The Show Low Cougars put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 victory over Flagstaff. Given Show Low's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Flagstaff is ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Raquel Wilson, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Show Low's points. Grace Moore was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 13 rebounds.
Show Low's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Flagstaff, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Show Low will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Thatcher at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Thatcher focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday. As for Flagstaff, they will head out on the road to face off against Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prescott has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 307 points over their last four matchups.
