Woodville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Woodville Eagles and the Splendora Wildcats will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Pineywoods Community Academy scored an imposing 55 points last Friday, Woodville still came out on top. Woodville took their contest against Pineywoods Community Academy 63-55.
Even though Splendora has not done well against Livingston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Splendora secured a 52-46 W over Livingston. The victory was just what Splendora needed coming off of a 68-44 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Justin Kelley, who scored 23 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Splendora's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydn McNeely, who scored seven points along with four blocks.
Woodville's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Splendora, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Woodville came up short against Splendora in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, falling 61-52. Thankfully for Woodville, Ty Broussard (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
