The Chicago Christian Knights will take on the Parkview Christian Academy Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Chicago Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Wheaton Academy 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted against the Warriors since May 10, 2018.

Christian Flutman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chicago Christian's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Assink, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Rafe Slager, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Chicago Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheaton Academy struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Parkview Christian Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Green Wave. Four seems to be a good number for the Falcons as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Parkview Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Chicago Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chicago Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Parkview Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
