Fairland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 28 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Monday with ease, bagging a 44-9 win over Chesapeake. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Fairland has scored all year.
Fairland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bailey Russell, who scored 13 points along with four steals, and Bree Allen, who scored 15 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Russell has scored at least 25% of Fairland's points. Addison Godby was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Huntington scored an imposing 63 points last Wednesday, Parkersburg still came out on top. Parkersburg slipped by Huntington 64-63. The win made it back-to-back wins for Parkersburg.
Parkersburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trinity Balog, who scored 24 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The match was Balog's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lauren Flanagan, who scored 18 points.
