Rangeview hasn't had much luck against Northfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nighthawks at 4:15 p.m. Rangeview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Rangeview had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Skyview put an end to it on Thursday. The Raiders came up short against the Wolverines, falling 8-2.
Rangeview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fabian Amaya, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Northfield waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Raptors a 7-0 shutout. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Nolan Taylor, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Eaglecrest off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peter Worth, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Northfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rangeview, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rangeview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Rangeview suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Northfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
