In what's become a running theme this season, Arizona Lutheran Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. John Paul II Catholic 82-17 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-14.
Arizona Lutheran Academy relied on the efforts of Stephan Iron shell, who scored 18 points along with two steals, and Noah Draper, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Iron shell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played. Luis Guerrero was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Round Valley waltzed into their matchup last Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They took down Hopi 71-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Arizona Lutheran Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. As for Round Valley, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8.
Arizona Lutheran Academy took their victory against Round Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2017 by a conclusive 60-40. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Round Valley's Michael Mortensen, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Arizona Lutheran Academy to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
