The Highland Rams won against the Viewmont Vikings on Wednesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. It was close, but Highland capped 2023 with a 61-58 victory over Viewmont. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Highland found their leader in underclassman Isaiah Drisdom, who scored 21 points along with three steals. The contest was Drisdom's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of George Mcconkie, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Highland's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Viewmont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Highland and Mountain Ridge will face off at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mountain Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.9 points per game. Viewmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Olympus at 8:30 p.m. on December 29th. Olympus is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
