Greene County came tearing into  Thursday's  game with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Moss Point Tigers get on the board and left with  a   16-0  win. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Jacie Ethridge made a splash no matter where she played. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. What's more,  she posted two  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Erin Meadows was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  stolen bases. Another player making a difference was  Kambrie Lawrence, who  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Greene County  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 4.8  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.
Greene County pushed their record up to 7-4 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Moss Point,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-13.
 Looking ahead, Greene County will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against East Central  at 11:30  a.m. As for Moss Point, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Biloxi  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
