Baseball Recap: Lakeview's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lakeview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Clarion Area Bobcats with a sharp 9-2 victory. Considering the Sailors have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lucas Fagley and Owen Dye made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Fagley pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Dye tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Fagley has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Fagley went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Dye went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Dye has posted since back in April.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Garet Guthrie, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Lakeview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Lakeview's record is now 13-3. As for Clarion Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Lakeview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 23-1 win against Cambridge Springs on the 12th. As for Clarion Area, they have also already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against Moniteau on the 9th.
