The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets had to endure a 12-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They secured a 38-33 W over Irondequoit on Tuesday. The win was just what Rush-Henrietta needed coming off of a 70-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Irondequoit had strong showings from Kailey Besio, who scored 16 points, and Aubrey Smith, who scored five points along with 15 rebounds and five assists. Smith is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
The victory got Rush-Henrietta back to even at 1-1. As for Irondequoit, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rush-Henrietta will take on Eastridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Irondequoit, they will be playing at home against Gates Chili at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
