After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodward Academy, the Morrow Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 65-52 win over Rockdale County. That's another feather in the cap for Morrow, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morrow to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kentavious Bentley, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Bentley grabbed two or more steals. Isaiah Pena was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Rockdale County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dion Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Morrow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Rockdale County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Morrow will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jonesboro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Rockdale County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Forest Park has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20.
