2A East Top Player Performances of the Week

Robinson Came Up Big in Englewood's  37-27  Loss
 Starting off the list is Englewood's  Deon Robinson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Robinson rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 113  rushing yards dating back to last season.
 On the year,  Robinson  has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 134 rushing yards per game. He's  made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year,  he had three  rushing touchdowns.

Logan Mael Makes It Two for Englewood
 Keeping Robinson company is  Logan Mael, a fellow Englewood player. He picked up 61 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 This season,  Mael  has caught  those 1 touchdown while averaging 27.7 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive:  after six games last season,  he was only averaging 0.67  rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 50.5  rushing yards.

 Winning always takes teamwork, but  on Friday  Joaquin Aviles stepped things up a notch to give Elizabeth the 'W'. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards.
 Elizabeth's win was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 5-2. Aviles and Elizabeth will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Englewood at 7:00  p.m.  on October 25th.
