The Pueblo South Colts won the last time they faced the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Pueblo South took down Pueblo Centennial 63-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pueblo South.
It was another big night for Maurice Austin, who scored 40 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Pueblo South's points. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Duran, who scored nine points along with two steals.
The victory got Pueblo South back to even at 7-7. As for Pueblo Centennial, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo South will take on Pueblo County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Pueblo County is ranked 106th, while Pueblo South is ranked 90th). As for Pueblo Centennial, they will head out on the road to take on Pueblo West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Logan Montgomery and Jeffrey Valdez.
