Softball Recap: 17 Straight Home Victories for Sharon

Sharon came tearing into Wednesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Franklin Knights with a sharp 15-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by ten runs or more this season.

Madelyn Vogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sharon got a big performance out of Dalaini Bayer, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Bayer has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addie McFann, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sharon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only posted an OBP of .154.

Sharon pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Franklin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Sharon will head out on the road to take on Jefferson Area at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grove City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
