Basketball Recap: Sawyer Jones Key Part of Team Effort in Warhawks Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Berean Christian Academy, Oakwood Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Victory Road Christian Academy Minutemen by a score of 64-54.

Oakwood Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sawyer Jones out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rowen Haynes, who went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points and four steals.

Oakwood Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Oakwood Academy back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Oakwood Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Lighthouse Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
