Orange Grove is 2-8 against Jones since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Orange Grove Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Jones Trojans at 6:15 p.m. Orange Grove is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Orange Grove came up short against West Oso and fell 48-38. While losing is never fun, Orange Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1123rd, while West Oso is ranked 292nd).
Meanwhile, Jones didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ingleside on Friday, but they still walked away with a 32-28 win.
Orange Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.
Orange Grove took a serious blow against Jones when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 56-28. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Orange Grove was down 34-12.
