On Monday, the Lexington Minutemen's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Tremont 53-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lexington.
Lexington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Olson, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and four blocks. Tyler Steffa was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lexington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Tremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Lexington will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against El Paso-Gridley at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. El Paso-Gridley is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games. As for Tremont, they will be playing at home against LeRoy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LeRoy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 534th, while Tremont is ranked 198th).
