In what's become a running theme this season, the Summit Academy Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 79-29 win over All City Leadership Academy. With Summit Academy ahead 36-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Summit Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sariah Gammon out in front who scored 30 points along with five steals. Gammon is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Amerie Santana was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten steals.
Summit Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for All City Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Summit Academy will be playing at home against Teachers Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Teachers Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Summit Academy is ranked 122nd). As for All City Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bedford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bedford Academy will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
