The Lynn English Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Lynn Classical Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lynn English comes in on three and Lynn Classical on four.
On Thursday, Lynn English earned a 6-3 win over Revere.
Jariel Benzan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Benzan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julian Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Engel Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Lynn English always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Revere only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Lynn Classical owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They came out on top against Bishop Fenwick by a score of 5-0.
Ronal Brea was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Lynn Classical's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lynn English, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Lynn English suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Lynn Classical in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
