The Wendover Wildcats entered their tilt with the Tintic Miners with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Wendover took down Tintic 65-49 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wendover also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Wendover was led to victory by Shawn Duboise and Raul Valle. Duboise dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Valle scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. The game was Duboise's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eric Rodriguez, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Tintic still got an impressive performance from Haygen Jameson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Jameson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played.
Wendover's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Tintic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Wendover will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bryce Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Tintic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maeser Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
