Basketball Recap: Jacobb Prussman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mount Vernon

After losing to Mount Vernon the last time they met, Telos decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Telos enjoyed a cozy 41-26 win over the Mount Vernon Patriots on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Telos.

Telos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacobb Prussman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, Prussman is now averaging an impressive 8.9 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Garrett Plott, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Telos was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Vernon only posted three assists.

Despite the loss, Mount Vernon still got an impressive performance from Andre Hernandez, who posted 16 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Lopez, who had three points and four steals.

Telos' record is now 3-14. As for Mount Vernon, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Telos has already played their next match (against Pinnacle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mount Vernon will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Utah School for the Deaf & Blind at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th.
