Basketball Recap: City University School of Liberal Arts Comes Up Short

City University School of Liberal Arts lost against Hillcrest back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. City University School of Liberal Arts fell 72-60 to the Hillcrest Vikings. While losing is never fun, City University School of Liberal Arts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Hillcrest is ranked 156th).

Despite the loss, City University School of Liberal Arts still got an impressive performance from Tyler Reliford, who went 9-for-16 to rack up 23 points and five assists. That's the most assists Reliford has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kevion Robertson, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hillcrest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'Coby Lewis, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten assists. Lewis is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 100% in the last seven games he's played. Jerrell Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

City University School of Liberal Arts is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14. As for Hillcrest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-6 record this season.

City University School of Liberal Arts has already played their next contest, a 79-55 win against Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova on the 10th. As for Hillcrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 88-69 victory against Westwood on the 10th.
