Perry Meridian hasn't had much luck against Plainfield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will welcome the Quakers at 5:30 p.m. Perry Meridian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Perry Meridian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Pike on Monday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 20-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won eight in a row.
Kennedy Simpson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Another player making a difference was Macy Stroud, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
Perry Meridian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .838. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Plainfield had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Hawks. That's two games straight that the Quakers have won by exactly five runs.
Sidney Parks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maci Hanlin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Arnett, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Plainfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Perry Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Perry Meridian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Plainfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Perry Meridian might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Plainfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
