The Highland Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Middleton Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Middleton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland, who comes in off a win.
Highland can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-34 win over Century.
Highland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daisy Agado led the charge by scoring 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Agado has scored at least 25% of Highland's points. Another player making a difference was Rian Pokibro, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Middleton had to settle for a 53-51 defeat against Kuna on Tuesday. Middleton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Middleton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Elsie Wyatt, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Zoey Blackwell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 steals.
Preston's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Highland's defeat dropped theirs to 0-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: Highland have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4 threes per game. It's a different story for Middleton, though, as they've been averaging only 1 per game. Given Highland's sizeable advantage in that area, Middleton will need to find a way to close that gap.
