White County Central is 0-8 against Des Arc since April of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Bears will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. White County Central has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
White County Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against South Side on Thursday. They came up short against the Hornet, falling 17-1.
Meanwhile, Des Arc came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 13-10. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Hudson Goodman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Goodman was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brayden Knupp was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Des Arc's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Rhett Holloway, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
Des Arc was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hazen only posted a batting average of .250.
White County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Des Arc, their record now sits at 4-6.
White County Central suffered a grim 14-7 defeat to Des Arc in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
