The Mauldin Mavericks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Woodmont with a 58-54 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mauldin also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mauldin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Sullivan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Owen Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Mauldin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Woodmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-8.
Mauldin will look to defend their home court on Friday against T.L. Hanna at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in T.L. Hanna's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups. Woodmont on the road again on Friday and play against J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. J.L. Mann will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Woodmont is ranked 31st).
