The Hayden Wildcats on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Carver Birmingham Rams at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Hayden suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Jasper 85-19. Hayden has struggled against Jasper recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Carver Birmingham's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Jasper, falling 77-29. While losing is never fun, Carver Birmingham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Jasper is ranked ninth).
Hayden bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Carver Birmingham, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
