Peebles has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 51-24 win over Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington. Given Peebles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington is ranked 676th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fairfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Cedarville by a score of 65-54.
Fairfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Larkin Friend, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Cade Miller, who scored 13 points.
Peebles' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Fairfield, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Peebles might still be hurting after the 59-37 defeat they got from Fairfield when the teams last played back in January. Can Peebles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
