The Ridge Community Bolts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 74-59 win over Haines City. The victory was just what Ridge Community needed coming off of a 64-31 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Eddy Hyppolite jr., who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Darrick Downing was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charles Wright, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevon Davis, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Ridge Community's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Haines City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridge Community will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Osceola at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th. Osceola will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Haines City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lakeland at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. Lakeland will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
