Volleyball Recap: Ponca's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Ponca's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the South Sioux City Cardinals by a score of 3-1. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The victory didn't come easy: South Sioux City scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Emerson Ehlers paced Ponca's offense, picking up 17 kills. Ehlers got some help from Elsie Keller and her 39 assists. Keller was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The win snapped Ponca's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-13 record. As for South Sioux City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Coming up, Ponca will head out to square off against Wakefield at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for South Sioux City, they will face off against Benson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
