Woodgrove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the John Champe Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodgrove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully John Champe likes a good challenge.
Woodgrove scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rock Ridge and snuck past 83-81. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Woodgrove has posted yet this season.
Dane Marsh and Colin Fuller were among the main playmakers for Woodgrove as the former dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds and the latter scored 23 points. Marsh has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Kenny Chicas was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, John Champe pushed their score all the way to 67 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bowie. John Champe has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Woodgrove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for John Champe, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Woodgrove couldn't quite finish off John Champe in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 48-45. Can Woodgrove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
